Key disaster preparedness meeting held in Tuensang

DIMAPUR — A table top exercise-cum-preparatory meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, was held on Thursday at the DC’s conference hall, Tuensang.

During the meeting, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team from Itanagar gave a PowerPoint presentation to District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) members and representatives from the Fire Services, Medical, and Police departments, and highlighted the importance of preparedness for disasters and eventualities.

The main objective of the table top exercise is to enable stake holders and various government and NGO agencies to avoid casualties in the event of natural calamity and man-made disasters.

Open discussions and interaction were exchanged with NDRF and DDMA Tuensang so as to enhance the preparatory plans and tips to reduce victims and casualties in times of any adversities in the district, the report stated.
