The Kohima District Football Association revises the 3rd Kohima District Futsal Championship format to a league-cum-knockout system.

DIMAPUR — The Kohima District Football Association (KDFA), following a meeting held at Hotel 2K, Kohima, on May 15, informed that the upcoming third edition of the Kohima District Futsal Championship will now be conducted on a league-cum-knockout basis.
Earlier, the tournament was announced to be played in a knockout format. However, after deliberation during the association meeting, the format was revised to a league-cum-knockout system to provide participating teams with more competitive matches and greater exposure during the championship.
According to an update, the registration deadline for teams and players has been fixed for May 28, while the fixture draw will be conducted on May 29. The championship will begin with a formal inaugural ceremony at 9 am at Mez and Co. Sports Arena, below Medical College, P Khel, Kohima.

The KDFA reiterated that only registered players of the district will be eligible to participate in the tournament.
The champions will receive a cash prize of INR 20,000 along with a trophy and citation, while the runners-up will be awarded INR 15,000 along with a trophy and citation. The two losing semi-finalists will receive INR 5,000 each.
Individual awards will also be presented to the best goalkeeper, top scorer, and player of the tournament. Tournament forms are available at Flora Bakery, High School, and Sports Paradise, Kezieke.
The winners of the championship will go on to represent the district at the Nagaland Futsal Championship.
