- According to the agreement, the proposed refinery will use
agricultural waste and organic biomass to produce eco-friendly biofuel. The
project is aimed at reducing dependency on fossil fuels while generating local
employment, boosting farmers’ incomes, and promoting environmental
sustainability.
- Officials from Goal Gas Pvt. Ltd stated that, once
operational, petrol and diesel produced at the refinery will be sold at INR 2
less than the prevailing market rates. Additionally, farmers who supply raw
materials to the plant will receive a further INR 5 per litre discount on fuel.
- KAAC authorities highlighted the strategic importance of the
initiative, noting that it would position Karbi Anglong as a model for
renewable energy adoption in the region. They described the collaboration as an
example of how local resources and public-private partnerships can drive
meaningful development.
- Goal Gas Pvt. Ltd expressed confidence that the refinery,
once completed, would serve as a benchmark in green energy production in the
Northeast and contribute to broader national goals of energy transition and
climate action.
