Zunheboto, Phek, and Longleng districts launch the nationwide Jan Bhagidari campaign for tribal welfare.

DIMAPUR — The nationwide Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign under Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN) and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA), themed "Jan Bhagidari – Sabse Door Sabse Pehle", was launched in multiple districts across Nagaland, including Longleng, Zunheboto, and Phek.
The campaign aims to create awareness of government welfare schemes for tribal communities and conduct beneficiary saturation drives for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) living in remote areas, according to a DIPR report.
Longleng: In Longleng, the district administration launched the campaign at the DC’s office on May 18.
The campaign is being conducted from May 18 to May 25, with the aim to create awareness on welfare schemes and ensure the delivery of government services and entitlements to tribal communities across the district.
Speaking at the launching programme, Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, W Manpai Phom, called upon all departments to ensure the effective implementation of the campaign activities in the villages.

The programme includes village-level awareness campaigns, beneficiary saturation drives, health camps, Aadhaar enrolment, welfare scheme facilitation, and grievance redressal sessions.
A review meeting will be held on May 25 to assess the progress of the campaign and discuss further follow-up measures in the district.
Zunheboto: In Zunheboto, the campaign meeting was held at the DC’s conference hall on May 19.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Shaying Sheu, who highlighted the importance of departmental roles and responsibilities in ensuring that government welfare schemes and essential services reach every doorstep.
He stated that even if one person benefits from the awareness drive, "that itself counts and matters". He further encouraged all departments to work collectively, adding that the initiative should not fail as it is a shared responsibility.
It was resolved that all departments would jointly conduct awareness drives on various departmental schemes across the Zunheboto district on a cluster basis. The campaign will commence on May 25, covering Akuluto at Lumitsami village, Suruhuto at Yehemi village, and Aghunato at Viyilho village.
On May 26, the campaign will continue at Atoizu in Vekuho New village, Satoi at Satoi village, and Pughoboto at Mishilimi village. On May 27, the awareness drive will be held at Lizu Naghuto village in Zunheboto and at Khukiye Lukhai village under Satakha. A review meeting is scheduled to be held on May 29.
Phek: In Phek, the district administration, led by Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori and department heads of district offices, conducted the launching programme of the campaign at the DC’s conference hall on Wednesday.
