DIMAPUR — The ‘Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan: Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle’ information, education, and communication (IEC) campaign for the Chiephobozou block under Kohima district was held at the Panchayat Hall in Nerhe Phezha village, Kohima, on Monday.
Addressing the gathering, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chiephobozou Vekusheyi Rhakho stated that the main objective of the campaign was to create awareness and outreach on various government welfare schemes and ensure services reach the doorsteps of the people.
According to a DIPR report, he noted that the initiative, inspired by the vision of the Prime Minister for Viksit Bharat, focuses on empowering tribal communities, enriching tribal heritage, and ensuring tribal rights through grassroots participation and coordinated departmental efforts.
Activities under the campaign include Jan Sunwai, awareness generation programmes, village immersion, entitlement resolution, and community outreach initiatives.
Rhakho urged all eligible beneficiaries from villages under the Chiephobozou sub-division block to avail themselves of the opportunities and benefits provided by various departments. He also called upon the participants to continue spreading awareness to their respective villages and expressed his gratitude to them for participating in the mega campaign.

Highlighting departmental activities, CDPO Chiephobozou Alice Yepthomi, representing the Social Welfare department, focused on the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), National Family Benefits Scheme (NFBS), National E-Scholarship, Unique Disability ID (UDID), Nasha Mukti Bharat Abhiyaan, and the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY).
She also informed eligible beneficiaries to contact the PMMVY Cell Kohima at 6009298857 and the DHEW Office Kohima at 9366422853.
Range Forest Officer Savinuo Kikhi, representing the Forest department, highlighted the Nagaland Forest Management Project under the Japan International Cooperation Agency in three villages under the Chiephobozou range.
She also shared insights on the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 with a focus on elephant-human conflict. Kikhi requested the government to constitute or reconstitute the Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC) under the Biological Diversity Act 2002.
Officials from various other departments and agencies also outlined their respective programmes and schemes.
These included Kevimetuo Rulho from the Rural Development department; Viketuno Chusi, SDAO from the District Agriculture Office, Kohima; Vihinu John, ACSO Kohima, representing Food and Civil Supplies; Mhasizotuo Yashü, DHO Kohima, representing the Horticulture department; Meweluho Toso, BPM Chiephobozou, representing the Medical department; and Asato Sachü, Centre Manager of CFL Chiephobozou.
