They shared that for this year the theme given by IRCS is "United for humanity," with the concept to reclaim the narrative in the phase of dehumanising trends and increased attacks on humanitarian workers. Therefore, for this year the IRCSN decided to celebrate the significant day by organising walkathon as a bold public call to conscience.
According to the organisers, the walk represents the need for the visibility of compassion, and as citizens gather together, they hope it will give them the opportunity to remind the power of humanitarian service and collective community work.
They informed that people from all age groups will be participating in the walkathon, while also citing that they have extended invitations to students, youths, organisation, and various associations.
They also highlighted that the purpose of the event is to raise awareness among all groups of citizens in Nagaland about the existence of IRCSN, as they are also among the first responders in times of any crisis.
The event is also organised with the hope that a lot of people will come and register as volunteers of IRCSN.
The organisers invited citizens to register themselves as IRCSN volunteers, citing that the IRCSN is trying its best to help people and that the society needs lots of volunteers to help the society.
They updated that at present they have IRCS district branches in all the 17 districts across Nagaland.
They further informed that on the day of the event, MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhütso will give a motivational speech as a physician, and there will also be displays by various event partners.
