International University set to launch one-year diploma in school counseling from next month.

DIMAPUR — Expounding the need to implement the government’s policy of having one male and one female counselor in all the schools in Nagaland, Prof. Zavise Rume, director of Vocational Education at International University (IU), Dimapur, informed that the university would launch one-year diploma in school counseling from next month at its headquarters at 7th Mile, Dimapur.
He stated that the initiative would be a landmark step to strengthen the young minds studying in schools across the state. Recognising the growing need for emotional psychological and academic support, he added that the government’s vision would be a crucial gap in educational ecosystem.

The newly appointed vice chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Dipak K Shukla, stated that the International University, Dimapur, has developed a rigorous, practice-oriented one-year diploma programme tailored to equip the aspiring counselors with essential skills in child psychology, educational guidance, mental health and school-based intervention strategies.
Elaborating about the faculty and the infrastructural arrangements at the university, the registrar, Dr. Roopam Bachhil, informed that full time, regular, adjunct, part time and visiting experts are all prepared to have the students for providing them enough knowledge.
