International University, Nagaland, conducts a free health camp in Chümoukedima, offering screenings and promoting holistic health and preventive care.

DIMAPUR — The International University, Nagaland (IUN), organised a free health camp at the Chümoukedima Town Council Hall on Thursday to promote preventive healthcare and create awareness about non-communicable diseases.
According to an update, the camp was conducted as part of the university’s social outreach initiative and was organised by the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy, and Department of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences.
The camp was led by qualified medical practitioners, including Dr. Varsha Tamang (PT), Head of Department (HOD), i/c Department of Physiotherapy; Dr. Jutika Bhuyan, HOD i/c Department of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences; and Sungjeminla Pongen, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, along with students.
The camp offered free medical check-ups, including general health screening, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, BMI assessment, and basic consultation services.

Dr. Zavise Rume, Director of Vocational Studies, IUN, addressed the gathering regarding the importance of natural remedies and traditional healing practices. He suggested adopting holistic approaches to health, encouraging people to integrate natural therapies, balanced nutrition, and positive lifestyle habits.
Dr. Dipak Kumar Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, IUN, also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the vision and mission of the university. He elaborated on the various academic programmes and professional courses being offered for the academic year 2026–27.
Zakietuo Shuya, colony council convenor, Ward 6, Chümoukedima, expressed gratitude to the university for making healthcare accessible for free.
The university further informed that communities or villages interested in organising similar free health camps may contact International University, Nagaland.
