DIMAPUR — A consultative meeting on the upcoming Census exercise was held at the ADC's office in Aghunato on July 4, bringing together officials from the Census department, town councillors, ward GBs, supervisors, enumerators and community leaders.
The meeting was followed by an interactive session to clarify doubts related to the census process, according to a DIPR report.
Deputy Director of Census and team leader, Imkong, informed the gathering that the Census would be conducted in two phases.
Emphasising the importance of authentic data collection, he said the information gathered would play a crucial role in shaping future government policies and programmes.
He also called upon community leaders to extend full cooperation to census functionaries.
In her welcome address, EAC Aghunato briefed the Census officials on the ongoing House Listing Operations (HLO) in the sub-division.

She stated that Aghunato has been divided into four Census charges and that a total of 89 supervisors and enumerators, including reserves, have been appointed for the exercise.
The EAC said the HLO is progressing smoothly despite practical challenges such as poor road connectivity and erratic mobile network coverage.
She added that the Office of the ADC Aghunato is working in close coordination with the concerned departments and is continuously monitoring the implementation of the exercise.
Queries related to the HLO app and various aspects of the House Listing Operation were also addressed and clarified by the Census officials present during the interactive session.
