INTACH Nagaland Chapter hosts the FILMIT India Workshop 2026 in Dimapur to teach schoolchildren heritage filmmaking.
DIMAPUR — In a first, the INTACH Nagaland Chapter held the FILMIT India Workshop 2026 at Tulip Hall in Duncan Basti, Dimapur, on Saturday.
According to an update, Charis High Academy, Christian Higher Secondary School, Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School, The Maple Tree School and Bethesda Higher Secondary School participated in the one-day workshop.
The sessions were conducted by a team from INTACH New Delhi, along with technical experts from Tuning Fork Films, who are award-winning filmmakers.
FILMIT is a multi-cultural project that aims at nurturing cultural understanding, care and concern among school children through the experience of making and sharing films. Started in 2007, this year marks the 19th year of INTACH’s India project, with more than 7,000 films uploaded on the website.

FILMIT engages students from classes 6 to 8 in developing short films of one to two minutes on their culture with mobile phones that can be shared through the internet with schoolchildren in other parts of the country and the world.
The participants will go on to make short films and upload them to the website, which will be screened at the national interschool film festival in February 2027.
