Nagaland organised UNNATI Scheme training and SAMVAD outreach to strengthen investment and industrial growth initiatives.

DIMAPUR — The Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, organised a capacity-building programme for officials and applicants under the UNNATI 2024 Scheme on June 11, followed by the SAMVAD (Investor and Industry Outreach) programme on June 12.
According to a DIPR report, the capacity-building programme was held at the conference hall of the Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Kohima, with a focus on strengthening the capabilities of officials and applicants under the UNNATI Scheme.
The programme was conducted by Assistant Director Ikheshe Kahoto, while the welcome address was delivered by Director of Industries & Commerce, P Tokugha Sema.
Resource persons from DPIIT—Dr. Karampaul Singh, Sandeep Srivastava, Amit Yadav and Simrat Singh—conducted sessions on the UNNATI claim application process, portal-based claim filing, document verification procedures, stages of claim processing, and common reasons for claim rejection or delays.
The programme also featured interactive discussions, case studies and a help desk session, providing participants with practical guidance and support.

On June 12, an official review meeting was held at Hotel De Oriental Grand, Kohima, between DPIIT and the Department of Industries & Commerce.
The DPIIT was represented by Arun Kumar Vishwakarma, Under Secretary to the Government of India, while the state government delegation was led by Additional Secretary of the Industries & Commerce Department, Samson Sekhose, along with departmental officials and representatives from banks and financial institutions.
During the meeting, participants discussed various issues and challenges relating to the North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (NEIIPP), the North East Industrial Development Scheme (NEIDS), and the UNNATI Scheme.
The review meeting was followed by the SAMVAD (investor and industry outreach) programme, which brought together government officials, representatives of banks and financial institutions, entrepreneurs, and prospective investors.
The welcome address at the outreach programme was delivered by Joint Director of Industries & Commerce, Cholzo Sophie. Arun Kumar Vishwakarma delivered the keynote address, while Inspector of Industries & Commerce, Imsongmeren Imsong, proposed the vote of thanks.
Discussions during the programme centred on investment opportunities in Nagaland, industry facilitation measures, ease-of-doing-business initiatives, and mechanisms to address challenges faced by investors and enterprises, reaffirming the state's commitment to promoting industrial growth and investment.
