Dimapur district branch of the Indian Red Cross Society extends humanitarian relief to the Phaipijang village fire victims on Tuesday.

DIMAPUR — Dimapur district branch of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) on Tuesday extended humanitarian relief to the families affected by the devastating fire that broke out in Phaipijang village on October 22.
An update from IRCS Dimapur stated that the fire completely gutted eight plots, affecting 56 individuals—most of whom earned their livelihood as auto drivers and hawkers selling roasted chana in the local market.
It stated that following the incident, the chairman of IRCS Dimapur, Chandu Agarwal, along with other members visited the site to assess the damage and interact with the victims.
It added that after a joint discussion with the deputy commissioner (DC) of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, who is also the president of IRCS Dimapur, the team decided to extend immediate relief materials to all the affected families.

It informed that each affected household received essential items such as kitchen utensils, hygiene kits, mosquito nets, bed covers and pillow covers. Some of the materials were provided by the IRCS state branch as part of its emergency support initiative.
The officials of IRCS Dimapur who were present during the relief distribution programme included its chairman, Chandu Agarwal; advisor Capt. Hekiye Sema; managing committee members namely, Lipok Ao and Ajit Jain.
Expressing solidarity with the victims, IRCS team reaffirmed its commitment to stand by communities in times of distress and continue extending humanitarian assistance wherever needed.
