A massive fire at Phaipijang village in Dimapur destroyed eight thatch houses on Thursday morning, with no casualties reported.

DIMAPUR — A massive fire broke out at Phaipijang village, Lane 1, in Dimapur on Thursday morning, completely destroying eight thatch houses.
According to personnel from the Central Fire Station, they received a distress call at around 8.34 am and immediately dispatched three fire tenders along with fire personnel to the site.
The team managed to bring the blaze under control within one hour and seven minutes. Owing to their timely response, the fire was prevented from spreading to nearby areas.
The cause of the fire and the estimated loss of property are yet to be ascertained. No casualties were reported in the incident.
