- KOHIMA — The
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued hot and humid
weather conditions over Nagaland till June 14, followed by a spell of isolated
heavy rainfall till June 18—with particularly heavy showers anticipated on June
17 and 18.
- The IMD in its latest update stated that similar hot and
humid weather is likely to affect the neighbouring northeastern states of
Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura till June 14.
- It predicted light to moderate rainfall at many places
across the region, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds
ranging between 30-40 kmph over the next seven days.

- Till June 18, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram,
and Tripura are likely to witness moderate rainfall in most areas, along with
thunderstorms and gusty winds. Very heavy rainfall has been forecast over
Arunachal Pradesh on June 18, over Assam and Meghalaya from June 16 to 18, and
over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on June 17 and 18.
- District-specific forecasts further indicate that Tuensang
and Kiphire districts in Nagaland are likely to experience heavy rainfall on
June 14 and 15.
- The IMD has advised residents and local authorities to stay
alert and take necessary precautions during this period of potentially adverse
weather.
