WOKHA — The Indian Dental Association (IDA), Nagaland State Branch, organised a one-day Continuing Oral and Dental Education (CODE) programme in Wokha on Saturday, bringing together 62 dental professionals from both government and private sectors across the state.
The technical sessions were conducted by resource persons Dr. Hollo Ayemi and Dr. Aneizo Khruomo, who spoke on "Emergency in dental services and management" and "Oral lesions and management".
Dr. Meribeni Odyuo, retired Director of Dental Services, delivered an exhortation. She highlighted the importance of lifelong learning and professional fellowship, while appreciating the presence of participants from various districts.
Dr. Odyuo further stressed that while dentistry is rapidly evolving with new technologies, materials, and specialisations, practitioners must remain rooted in ethics, compassion, and integrity.

“A successful dentist is not measured solely by clinical expertise or modern equipment but also by honesty, humility, empathy, and the trust earned from patients and society,” she said, urging younger colleagues to continue upgrading their skills while upholding professional values.
Short speeches were also delivered by Dr. N Moa Jamir, Joint Director (Dental); Dr. I. Arenla Walling, Director (Dental); and Dr. N. Savino, retired Dental Director.
