KIPHIRE — IHSA COFFEE CEO Atongba Mongzar shared the vision and community-centred approach behind the cafe’s initiative.
During an interaction with Eastern Mirror, Mongzar said the cafe is not only focused on serving coffee and food, but also on building stronger community connections and supporting local people.
According to him, IHSA COFFEE has dedicated a small shelf space within the cafe for local Self Help Groups (SHGs) and home-based entrepreneurs to display and sell their products.
He highlighted that locally made products such as pickles, homemade food items, snacks, and handmade goods deserve a platform where customers can see, appreciate, and support them.

“Every product on the shelf carries someone’s hard work, story, and livelihood,” Mongzar said.
He further noted that supporting local makers and small entrepreneurs would help the community grow together in a meaningful and sustainable way.
The cafe also aims to become a welcoming space where local talent, creativity, and traditional flavours are celebrated.
Mongzar encouraged SHGs and individuals producing quality local products to come forward for collaboration, adding that the doors of IHSA COFFEE remain open for partnership and support.
