DIMAPUR — The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) has sanctioned a grant of INR 20 lakh to two faculty members of Tetso College for a major project research initiative focused on rural women's empowerment in Nagaland.
The grant, officially announced on March 14, was awarded under the ICSSR’s Scheme Major and Minor Research Project for a proposal titled "Quasi Experimental Evaluation of Integrated Government Scheme-Supported Social Business Models for Women Entrepreneurial Empowerment in Rural Nagaland".
The project is being jointly spearheaded by two academicians from Tetso College. Dr. Wapangsenla Imchen, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Management, will serve as the project director. Dr. Ajay Chakraborty, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce, will serve as the co-project director.

An update mentioned that this selection highlights the research capabilities of the faculty members while pointing out the critical need for evidence-based studies in underserved regions. The research aims to evaluate how integrated government schemes can effectively support social business models and empower female entrepreneurs in rural Nagaland.
The host institution extended its congratulations to Dr. Imchen and Dr. Chakraborty on the achievement.
