DIMAPUR — A district-level launch of the Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan (SUMAN) notified facilities, and a review of maternal activities was held at the Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) Office in Mokokchung on Wednesday.
Dr. Limanaro, District Programme Officer (DPO) for the Universal Immunisation Programme and Reproductive and Child Health, Mokokchung, served as the resource person, according to an update.
She stated that SUMAN is an initiative for zero preventable maternal and newborn deaths. She highlighted the three SUMAN services guarantee packages, including the Basic Package, MEmONC Package, and CEmONC Package.

She urged the trainees to create awareness talks on all health-related activities during Village Health and Nutrition Days (VHND). She mentioned that there are four SUMAN-certified and 33 SUMAN-notified health units under the Mokokchung district.
Topics such as high-risk pregnancy, ePMSMA, gestational diabetes mellitus, and MPCDSR were also discussed. Trainees were instructed on filling out the reporting formats.
The training was attended by medical officers, community health officers, staff nurses, GNMs, LHVs, and ANMs.
