International Conference on Chemistry in Multidisciplinary Research concludes at Nagaland University, Lumami.

DIMAPUR — The valedictory session of the International Conference on Chemistry in Multidisciplinary Research (ICCMR-2026) was held at Nagaland University, Lumami, on February 20, bringing down the curtain on the two-day conference organised by the Department of Chemistry.
Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung and chief guest Ajit Kumar Verma, in his address, spoke about the role of chemistry, particularly in relation to medical science.
The DC highlighted how chemistry holds immense potential, both constructive and destructive, and stressed the responsibility that comes with such knowledge.
Verma encouraged students and research scholars to collaborate actively, explore innovative research avenues, and contribute to scientific advancement. He also appreciated the department, faculty members, research scholars, and students for organising the academic event.
Guest of honour, Col. Bhanoo Pathak, Commanding Officer of the Assam Rifles, shared reflections from his academic journey and military career.

He spoke on the importance of fundamental truths and the life lessons he learned through his experiences.
The army officer encouraged research scholars, faculty members, and students to pursue their ambitions with determination and to strive for greater heights.
The session was chaired by Prof. Santosh K Singh, dean, School of Sciences.
The conference report was presented by Prof. Ambrish Singh, head of the Department of Chemistry and convenor of ICCMR-2026.
In his report, he highlighted the key sessions, academic discussions, and participation that made the conference meaningful and impactful.
Prof. Singh also felicitated the distinguished guests with traditional waistcoats and souvenirs as a gesture of appreciation.
The prize distribution ceremony recognised academic contributions.
The award for best oral presentation was presented by the chief guest and the best poster presentation award was conferred by the guest of honour.
In his valedictory message, Prof. Santosh K Singh expressed gratitude to all speakers for their presentations.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the students, research scholars, and organising team whose dedication ensured the conduct of the conference.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Nurul Alam Choudhury.
