DIMAPUR — Traffic on the Kohima–Dimapur four-lane stretch of National Highway-29 will come to a standstill twice this weekend as authorities close the Hydro Bridge at Dzudza for critical girder-launching work.
In an order issued on Thursday, the deputy commissioner of Kohima informed that the minor bridge at Chainage Km 165+115 will be closed to all vehicular traffic on February 14 from 6 am to 7 am and again on February 15 from 9 am to 1 pm.
During the closure, vehicles travelling between Dimapur and Kohima will be diverted via Peducha Junction (Major Bridge) on NH-29 to NH-02 through Tsiesema, and vice versa.
The district administration has advised commuters to plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the temporary shutdown necessitated by ongoing four-laning works on the busy highway.
