Directorate of Higher Education notifies guidelines for registration and regulation of coaching centres; existing centres given 3 months to register.

DIMAPUR — The Directorate of Higher Education has notified the ‘Guidelines for Registration and Regulation of Coaching Centres in the State of Nagaland’, approved by the Cabinet vide a letter dated November 26.
The objective of the guidelines is for the regulation of coaching centres for better guidance and assistance to students in any study programme, competitive examination or academic support, stated a DIPR report.

The guidelines will provide a framework for the registration and regulation of coaching centres, minimum standard requirements to run a coaching centre, safeguards for the interest of students enrolled, advice for coaching centres to focus on curricular activities as well as holistic development, and provide career guidance and psychological counselling.
The department has informed all existing coaching centres to apply for registration through the deputy commissioner of their respective districts within a period of three months from the date of notification.
