DIMAPUR — The regional presidents and collective leadership of the GPRN/NNC (AB) convened an emergency meeting in Dimapur on Wednesday, during which several resolutions were unanimously adopted.

The GPRN/NNC (AB) reaffirmed that it is a people-centric, peace-loving organisation committed to maintaining peace and tranquillity under the umbrella of the NNPG and FNR, according to a press release.

SS Pongkhu Naga, president, stated, "No one can claim ownership of the GPRN/NNC (AB) simply because they desire it." He further clarified that Francis Kikon was never officially appointed but was only temporarily assigned as acting general secretary for the time being.

The MIP of the GPRN/NNC (AB) stated that, as per the Yehzabo (constitution) of the government, disciplinary action could have been initiated against Francis Kikon much earlier. However, the organisation exercised restraint for a long time; the general Nagas will understand that.

The MIP further alleged that Kikon not only misused financial resources but also failed to carry out his responsibilities effectively due to his health and his mental instability.

The leadership also questioned how many times he attended FNR meetings during his tenure, asking him to account for his participation. Based on these reasons, the organisation confirmed that he has been expelled from the GPRN/NNC (AB) and urged the Naga public not to be misled by his actions or statements.

It said that the regional presidents of the GPRN/NNC (AB) expressed their full support for President SS Pongkhu Naga.

They further appealed to the Naga public not to be confused or misled by Francis Kikon’s actions, alleging that he is attempting to take advantage of the organisation for personal financial gain.

"The general public should learn that he is a mere public; if any organisation wants to contribute financial assistance, then it should be personal to him, not in the name of GPRN/NNC (AB)," it stated.

If Francis Kikon continues to misrepresent or misuse the name of the GPRN/NNC (AB) in any manner, the government shall not be held responsible for any consequences that may arise thereafter, it added.
