Higher Education department pursues Post Matric Scholarship funds

• DIMAPUR — The Higher Education department informed that, based on the assurance given by the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram, regarding the release of the final instalment of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) Post Matric Scholarship (2023–24) for ST students of Nagaland, the nodal officer of the Post Matric Scholarship met with officials from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to pursue the matter.

• Officials from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs have reassured the department that the ministry has cleared the final instalment amount for release and that it is with the Finance Ministry. It will be released to the state government on or before March 31, 2025, according to an update.

• The Minister for Higher Education and Tourism, Government of Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along, met with Oram on March 24 in New Delhi. During the meeting, the Union Minister assured the release of the pending final instalment for the year 2023-24, amounting to INR 1,274.01 lakh.
