- DIMAPUR — Union
Minister for Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram, has assured the release of the pending
final instalment of the Central share for the payment of the Centrally
Sponsored Scheme (CSS) Post-Matric Scholarship (2023-24) to ST student beneficiaries
in Nagaland.
- He made the assurance during a meeting with the Minister for
Higher Education and Tourism, Government of Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along, at the
former's official residence, 3 Safdarjung Road, New Delhi, on Monday, according
to a press release.
- During the meeting, Along apprised the Union Minister of the
CSS Post-Matric Scholarship for ST student beneficiaries in Nagaland and
requested the release of the pending final instalment, amounting to INR
1,274.01 lakh, for the year 2023-24.
- Along also suggested a review of the current system of
releasing funds in three to four instalments by the funding agencies to the
state government so that funds can be released in a single instalment in a
timely manner for the benefit of ST students. He further thanked the union
minister for his positive response.
