WOKHA — A heavy downpour on the night of April 19 in the Wokha district caused the Baghty Valley water level to rise above its normal flow, threatening irrigation farming and fish cultivation and disrupting the daily lives and movement of commuters in the region.
Several landslides were also reported across the district, leaving travellers stranded on roads while awaiting machinery for clearance.
Along the Sanis-Lakhuti stretch, two mudslides were reported near Sunglup village. The affected section was initially cleared for vehicular movement, but traffic was disrupted again after a fresh landslide struck further down towards Sanis.
