Greenwood HSS and GHS Molvom win the Zone-2 Pre-Subroto Cup Football Tournament in Chümoukedima.

DIMAPUR — Greenwood Higher Secondary School (HSS) and Government High School (GHS), Molvom, emerged as the boys' and girls' champions, respectively, at the Zone-2 Inter-School Pre-Subroto Cup International Football Tournament for Under-17 Boys and Girls.
The tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Nagaland, in collaboration with the Chümoukedima District Football Association, concluded at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium on May 29.
According to an update, the tournament, which commenced on May 27, witnessed the participation of 21 schools from Zone-2, including 17 teams in the boys' category and four teams in the girls' category.

In the boys' final, Greenwood Higher Secondary School defeated King David Higher Secondary School 3-2. In the girls' category, Government High School Molvom secured the title by defeating Living Stone Higher Secondary School 3-2 in a tie-breaker.
The tournament served as a platform for young footballers to demonstrate their talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship while promoting grassroots football development among school students.
Following their performances, the four finalist teams, Greenwood Higher Secondary School, King David Higher Secondary School, Government High School Molvom, and Living Stone Higher Secondary School, have qualified to represent Zone-2 at the State-Level Pre-Subroto Cup Football Tournament, which will be held at the IG Stadium in Kohima next month.
