DIMAPUR — The GPRN/NSCN (U), under the leadership of President Gen. (Retd.) MB Neokpao Konyak and Ato Kilonser Alezo Venuh, has issued a public notification concerning the unauthorised collection of taxes in the name of "Unification".
Through its Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the group stated that it has explicitly made it clear to the Naga public that there exists only one Naga nationalist organisation functioning under the nomenclature "Unification".
However, the group stated that despite repeated clarifications, it has recently received credible reports indicating that certain unscrupulous individuals and groups are collecting taxes and levies in the name of unification in various commercial centres and regional areas. Such activities are entirely unauthorised, misleading, and constitute a direct misuse of the organisation's name and authority.

In view of these developments, the GPRN/NSCN (U) cautioned all individuals or organisations against engaging in any form of collection under its name without proper authentication. It reiterated that any tax being paid without proper verification shall be at their own risk and responsibility.
The public has been advised to remain vigilant and immediately verify authenticity by consulting the respective RAO, town command, or regional command. Furthermore, any individual or entity found deliberately misrepresenting the GPRN/NSCN (U) shall be held solely accountable for any adverse consequences.
