DIMAPUR — The GPRN/NNC (AB) under the leadership of SS Pongkhu Naga convened an emergency meeting in Dimapur on Monday following recent developments that the organisation said were attempts to tarnish its image and credibility.

The meeting unanimously resolved to take disciplinary action against individuals engaged in activities considered detrimental to the unity and stability of the organisation.

According to a press release issued by the MIP GPRN/NNC (AB), President Pongkhu stated that Kitoho H Zhimomi was initially a tax collector under his leadership and was later promoted to the post of home kilonser for one and a half months. However, due to misconduct, Kitoho allegedly left the group to escape accountability.

The president described Kitoho’s claim of being the founder of GPRN/NNC (AB) as unfounded and unlawful, adding that the people of Nagaland should not be misled by propaganda circulated in the name of the organisation.

The statement clarified that no termination of the president had been carried out by the NNPGs or any other political platform.

The release further alleged that Kitoho absconded from responsibilities to avoid accountability for misused government funds, and his actions were described as individual attempts to defame the government and mislead the people.

The organisation expressed concern that his accusations against the NNPGs are contributing to division among political groups at a time when efforts are ongoing to unify factions for a peaceful and honourable resolution of the Naga political issue.

The statement called on Naga national workers and the public to remain vigilant against divisive propaganda.

Meanwhile, General Secretary V Yepthomi said Kitoho was treating the government like a “child’s playground” but stressed that the administration remained firm and unshakeable under President Pongkhu.

He further reaffirmed that the resolution passed on August 29 is fully in effect and that all town commanders and regional presidents had been directed to resume duties without delay to safeguard the dignity and discipline of the organisation.

In a joint appeal, the president and general secretary urged all political groups to prevent their cadres from aligning with Kitoho, who they maintained no longer holds any legitimate position in the organisation. They warned that such alignments are unlawful and risk destabilising the collective struggle, urging leadership bodies to act before such actions escalate into conflicts or misinterpretations.

The GPRN/NNC (AB) reiterated its commitment to governance, unity and the aspirations of the Naga people, stating that no internal or external act threatening the integrity or collective vision of the Naga struggle would be tolerated.
