Nand Kishore Yadav joined the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan at NIT Nagaland, urging students to lead the fight against substance abuse.
DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav attended the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan (Drug-free youth for developed India resolution campaign) at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland, Chümoukedima, on Sunday.
According to a press release issued by Lok Bhavan, Kohima, the programme was held as part of the Government of India's 100-week nationwide campaign against substance abuse.
The initiative aims to mobilise youth, educational institutions and communities to build a drug-free and developed India.
During the event, the governor visited a poster exhibition featuring awareness campaigns and creative exhibits prepared by students under the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan.
Appreciating their creativity and commitment, Yadav encouraged the students to become ambassadors of the movement and spread the message of a drug-free future in their communities.

The governor, along with faculty members, students, staff and other attendees, also joined the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address, during which he launched the 100-week nationwide campaign against substance abuse.
In his address, the Prime Minister called upon the youth of the country to lead the movement against drug abuse and contribute towards building a Vikshit Bharat, the release stated.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Manoj E Prabhakar, Registrar of NIT Nagaland.
Faculty members, students, staff and officials of the institute participated in the event, reaffirming their commitment to supporting the Government of India's Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan and promoting a healthier, addiction-free society through sustained awareness and youth-led initiatives.
