La Ganesan releases a book authored by Dr. Priyaranjan
Trivedi (second from left), founder chancellor of the International University
in Chümoukedima, on Monday.
- DIMAPUR — Nagaland
Governor La Ganesan on Monday inaugurated the Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar
Central Library at International University, Nagaland (formerly known as The
Global Open University) in Chümoukedima on the eve of the 136th birth anniversary
of Hedgewar.
- The governor, in his address, said the establishment of this
central library in Hedgewar's name was a fitting tribute to his legacy and
would serve as a centre of learning and reflection, inspiring students and
scholars to delve into the depths of history, philosophy, science, and the
humanities while staying rooted in the ethos of our great civilisation.
- According to him, a well-equipped library encourages
intellectual curiosity, fosters innovation, and instils a spirit of lifelong learning,
a place where students can broaden their horizons, develop independent thought,
and contribute meaningfully to society. Libraries, he remarked, help in
manifesting perfection by providing access to a wealth of knowledge and wisdom.
- This library, he hoped, will serve as a vital resource hub
for students, researchers, and faculty members. It will provide access to a
vast repository of books, journals, manuscripts, and digital resources,
covering a wide range of disciplines.
- The governor asserted that the International University in
Chümoukedima has taken a significant step by dedicating the magnificent centre
of learning to a leader who stood for national unity and character-building.
This central library, he believed, will not only benefit the students of
Nagaland but will also serve as a bridge for intellectual and cultural exchange
across India and beyond.
