programme at Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Sunday.
- DIMAPUR — Nagaland
Governor, La. Ganesan, on Sunday lauded the spirit of dedication, discipline
and service displayed by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets, while he also
encouraged more youth to participate in the movement and urged them to embrace
the values of Seva aur Samarpan (service and dedication), whether they choose
to serve in the armed forces, civil services or any other profession.
- He stated this during a felicitation programme at Raj Bhavan
in Kohima. The event, which coincided with the screening of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat broadcast, celebrated the achievements of NCC
cadets who have brought laurels to the state.
- Addressing the gathering, Ganesan expressed his pleasure in
celebrating the cadets' accomplishments, emphasising the NCC’s role in shaping
character, instilling patriotism and grooming future leaders of the nation, an
update from Raj Bhavan stated.
- “The NCC is much more than a youth organisation—it is a
movement that shapes character, instills patriotism and grooms the future
leaders of our great nation. Today, we felicitate cadets who have brought pride
to our state through their remarkable accomplishments. Some of you marched with
pride at the All India Republic Day Parade in New Delhi, while others brought
home medals from national events and youth camps. Many of you have excelled in
various NCC programmes with distinction and a few have even earned the
opportunity to join the prestigious National Defence Academy,” he said.
- He noted that those achievements are not just personal
milestones but a testament to the cadets' hard work, perseverance and the
values that NCC upholds.
- Highlighting the impact of Mann Ki Baat, the governor stated
that the programme has continuously recognised individuals and organisations
contributing to society adding that today’s event was to recognise the NCC
cadets, who embody the spirit of nation-building.
- “The NCC moulds the youth into disciplined, responsible and
patriotic citizens, equipping them with leadership qualities that will guide
our country forward. By honoring you today, we do not just celebrate your
individual successes but also aim to inspire countless other young minds to
join the NCC,” the governor remarked.
