DIMAPUR — In exercise of the powers conferred
under Section 10 (3) and 22 (4) of the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023, the
Governor of Nagaland has appointed government nominee members to the urban
local bodies (municipal and town councils).
In a notification issued on Tuesday, Chief Secretary Dr. J
Alam also informed that, as per provisions of Section 10 (4) and 22 (5) of the
Nagaland Municipal Act 2023, the government nominee members will have the right
to attend and speak at meetings of respective municipal and town councils.
But they will not have the right to vote and their tenure
shall be co-terminus with the ULBs, the notification stated.
Government nominees for Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC):
Tiajungla, Nekensashi, Enoch Wotsa, Margaret Ngullie, Ihoto K Shohe, Mahesh
Agarwal, Huska Sumi and Lezovor Keditsu.
Government nominees for Kohima Municipal Council (KMC):
Vilaseto Soleho, Azo Kirha, Viwhelie Khezhie, Dziesekhonuo Metha, Vitso Rio and
Kezhazer Angami.
Government nominees for Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC): M
Bendangnukshi Longkumer, Toshiakum Jamir, Wapangnaro Pongen, Limanungsang
Kichu, Hemant Rai and Tsukti Longkumer.
