Government High School at Forest Colony in Kohima celebrates cultural-cum-parents’ day.

DIMAPUR — Government High School (GHS) at Forest Colony in Kohima celebrated cultural-cum-parents’ day on Friday at the Forest Colony community hall.
An update from the school stated that the event showcased rich cultural heritage of different tribes and provided an opportunity for parents to engage with the school community and strengthened the bonds among parents, students and teachers. The event featured ‘Tribute to parents,’ recitation, folksongs, folk drama on ‘The discovery of Axone,’ and showcasing of traditional attires and ornaments of diverse cultures.
The programme, chaired by Grace Peletuoü, began with an invocation prayer said by Moala Longkumer.

In her exhortation, the school’s assistant headmistress, Swedesenuo Zao Kire, stated that the event was organised to foster deeper understanding and appreciation of different cultures, while also providing a special opportunity for parents to connect with the school and witness their children’s growth and development.
The event was also attended by Emilo Patton, district education officer of Kohima, and Ruokuoneinuo, DMA assistant district coordinator.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Avizo Medeo.
