DIMAPUR — The Jail Visit Committee (JVC) set up by the state government visited Central Jail Dimapur on Monday.
The committee comprised of K Hamtok Phom, DGP Prison; Solezhol Neikha, Superintendent of Jail; and Neiko Akami, Member Secretary of Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), an update stated.
The jail currently houses 190 inmates, and the committee has suggested installing a reliable, all-season drainage system to improve conditions.

The NSLSA team, led by the Member Secretary, updated the case status of legal aid extended to convicted persons in the High Court, in the presence of the Principal District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman of DLSA Dimapur and panel lawyers.
Four more convicted individuals received legal aid for filing appeals in the High Court. During an interaction with inmates, six convicts requested legal assistance due to their inability to afford private legal representation, it stated.
