: Cultural programme at GHSS Kiphire highlights unity, skills and traditions under PM SHRI scheme.

KIPHIRE — A cultural programme was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Kiphire, under the PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri School for Rising India) scheme, on Friday.
The programme was organised on the theme “Vibrant colours of unity.”
The event was part of a two-day art workshop held on March 25 and the 26th. During the workshop, students learned different skills such as knitting, painting, carpentry, Naga mura making, origami, paper engineering, visual communication, and graphic designing.
In her short speech, Lingtsala Sangtam said that cultural day is not only about celebrating one’s own culture but also about respecting and appreciating the cultures of others.

She encouraged students to learn from the good values of their ancestors like honesty, hard work, and kindness. She also advised them to be knowledgeable about culture and open-minded in a diverse society.
The programme ended with cultural competitions among students from different tribes. The events included folk songs, folk dances, top spinning, and traditional fire-making.
Prizes were later given to the winners, with first and second positions awarded in each category.
The programme was chaired by S Likhumla Sangtam, G/T, while the welcome address was delivered by senior principal YP Singh.
