DIMAPUR — The G Rio Memorial Volleyball Trophy, the 12th Kohima Open Tournament for men and women organised by the Kohima District Volleyball Association, entered its third day on Wednesday at Khuochiezie.


Semi-finalist teams have been directed to report to the venue at 8:30 am on November 20. The closing ceremony will take place the same day at 1 pm, with MLA C Manpon Konyak scheduled to attend.


According to a press release, in the women’s league round, Serenity Spiker’s Kohima beat Titan’s Club Kohima. During the quarter-finals, Teen Star Manipur defeated Terhüpourie Mezoma, Titan’s Club Kohima defeated Elite Sister’s Club Kohima, MADFA Dimapur beat Senapati Sporting Club Manipur, and Serenity Spiker’s Kohima overcame Dreamers Kohima.


The women’s semi-finals on November 20 will see Teen Star Manipur face Titan’s Club Kohima, while MADFA Dimapur will take on Serenity Spiker’s Kohima.

In the men’s league round, MH-10 Kohima defeated Tantrum Volleys Jotsoma, Rinal Volleyball Club Assam beat Kiruphema Youth Organisation (B), and Zing-Zing Kezo Town defeated New Sendenyu Youth Organisation.


The quarter-finals saw MH-10 Kohima win against Senapati Sporting Club Manipur, Kiruphema Youth Organisation (B) defeat Rinal Volleyball Club Assam, Kazi Najrul Assam beat Southern Angami Sports Association, and Zing-Zing Kezo Town defeat Kiruphema Youth Organisation Junior.


The men’s semi-finals on November 20 will feature MH-10 Kohima against Kiruphema Youth Organisation (B), and Kazi Najrul Assam against Zing-Zing Kezo Town.
