The Nagaland Shooting Sports Association and Department of Youth Resources and Sports concluded a two-week free shooting training in Dimapur.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Shooting Sports Association (NSSA), in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports (DYRS), held the valedictory-cum-prize distribution ceremony of the two-week free training and competition programme on the theme “Sports for all” on Saturday.
The programme was conducted from August 22 to the 30th at the Temjen Toy Indoor Shooting Range, Multi-Disciplinary Sports Complex, Duncan, Dimapur, according to a DIPR report. Khrusa Keyho, DCP Dimapur, attended the event as the special guest.
Wiridin Zeliang, SDO (Civil) Dimapur, speaking as the guest of honour, described shooting as a rare and fascinating sport for Nagaland, noting that it was his first time.

Highlighting the potential of the sport, Wiridin said that it is necessary to explore this kind of sport, as shooting is one of the most interesting games, and by default, Nagas are naturally inclined towards such activities.
Encouraging the athletes, he reminded them that nothing comes easy when striving to be at the top.
The welcome address and a detailed report on the two-week training and competition were presented by Hito Swu, shooting instructor, DYRS.
Gemdynaro Longkumtzur, speaking on behalf of the athletes, expressed gratitude to the organisers for providing free coaching opportunities.
