MOKOKCHUNG — A three-day free community medical camp for 27 Mokokchung Town assembly constituency commenced on Thursday, spearheaded by the 27 Mokokchung Town A/C NDPP Youth Organisation.
The initiative is supported by Minister for RD & SIRD Metsubo Jamir and the Nagaland Mineral & Mines (CSR).
The camp commenced with the first sessions at Arok Salang in Kichutip Ward followed by a second session at community hall in Salangtem Ward. It will continue on July 18 at Aongza Ki in Aongza Ward and RTO Basement in Kumlong Ward, concluding on July 19 at Mongsenbai Yim Ki in Mongsenbai Ward.
C Tia Longkumer, President of the 27 Mokokchung Town A/C NDPP, informed that the initiative aims to deliver accessible healthcare to residents, particularly the elderly, sick, and those in need, across multiple wards in Mokokchung.
‘We urge the public, especially the old, sick, and needy, to avail these services,’ he said.

Senior party worker Tinukaba Longchar revealed that the NDPP Youth Organisation proposed a constituency-wide coverage medical camp to Minister Metsubo Jamir in June 2025, which was endorsed by the minister’s family.
“This isn’t the first time the minister’s family has supported our community. The family has a clean philanthropic track record of supporting community welfare, including sports and social initiatives which speaks volumes,” Longchar noted.
He added that a team of doctors and technicians from outside Nagaland, equipped with advanced medical tools, is facilitating the camp. “We are expecting to serve at least 350 patients daily based on the first day’s turnout,” he added.
Key services in the camp include Bone Mineral Density (BMD) tests and Electrocardiogram (ECG) screenings, for early diagnosis and treatment.
