District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit Mokokchung hosts the fourth Red Run marathon to raise HIV and STI awareness.

DIMAPUR — The District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) Mokokchung organised the fourth edition of the "Red Run" marathon on the theme "Every step counts against HIV and STIs" on July 31.
Organised under the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), the marathon was flagged off by Youth and Sports Officer Dheeraj from the office premises of the Office of Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung.
According to an update, the flag-off took place in the presence of DTO Mokokchung Dr. Toshila, who applauded the participants for their collective efforts in preventing the HIV and AIDS epidemic.
The marathon aimed to engage young people in a healthy lifestyle, promote safe sexual behaviour, and increase awareness about HIV and AIDS services.
The event saw 46 participants from the 17 to 25 age group taking part in the run. Dheeraj and Dr. Toshila handed over the awards to the winners.

The winners were presented with certificates and cash prizes of INR 3,000 for first place, INR 2,000 for second place, and INR 1,500 for third place in both male and female categories.
The top male and female winners will represent the Mokokchung district at the state-level marathon.
