MOKOKCHUNG — Former Upa-Lokayukta of Nagaland, Mayang Lima, is showing signs of improvement while remaining in intensive care at Mission Hospital, Jorhat, Assam, following a severe road accident in Dergaon, Golaghat District, on October 2.
Lima’s brother, Rev. Lanuyanger, confirmed that he continues to receive treatment, with medical reports indicating steady progress. “His condition is improving, though he is still in the ICU,” Lanuyanger said. The family plans to airlift Lima to Mumbai for advanced care once he is stable.
The accident occurred early on October 2 while the group was traveling from Tuli to Dimapur. The vehicle carried the driver, Mayang Lima, L Opanginba (contractor), and Opanginba’s wife, Amenla.
Tragically, Opanginba’s wife died at the scene. The others sustained serious injuries, with Opanginba and the driver earlier referred to the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) in Chümoukedima for treatment.
