- DIMAPUR — With the current impasse between the
Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) and some contractor
firms over contract agreement, the Lotha Hoho has insisted that these firms
have to sign the mandatory implementation agreement with the committee.
- The Lotha Hoho, in a follow-up meeting held on February 14,
reaffirmed that the firms/contractors have to comply with the terms and
conditions of the NFHRCC or else they will not be allowed to execute the
contract work till the impasse is settled.

- In a press release, the hoho said that, as endorsed by the
joint meeting of Ao Senden, Sümi Hoho, Lotha Hoho and NFHRCC on February 4 in
Wokha, the Lotha Hoho held a meeting on February 12 in Wokha, to deliberate on
the matter pertaining to the deadlock between the NFHRCC and contractors of
Baghty division who are yet to sign the agreement.
- After a lengthy discussion, the Lotha Hoho resolved to stand
firmly with the resolution of the Mokokchung meeting held on January 16, 2025,
as the Lotha Hoho was also one of the signatories, it stated.
- The meeting had also resolved to meet Achumbemo Kikon, MLA,
to request him to co-ordinate with the contractors for “healthy settlement so
as to expedite the execution of the contract works in Wokha area.”
- Subsequently, on February 13, the Lotha Hoho delegates met
Kikon at his residence in Kohima and urged his intervention.
- However, after a lengthy discussion, the negotiation ended
without any solution, the hoho informed.
- The hoho further cautioned that, in the interim, in case of
execution of work by the contractors who have not entered into agreement with
the NFHRCC, “the consequences that may arise will be the responsibility of the
concerned contractors/firms and the NFHRCC may take any action as deemed
necessary.”
