DIMAPUR — Dimapur has been witnessing a series of fire incidents for three consecutive days, similar to last year's trend.
Multiple fire outbreaks were reported since January 1, with the latest incident reported on Saturday at Mount View Colony, Purana Bazaar, affecting a family.
According to an update from the Central Fire Station, a distress call was received at 10:34 am, following which two fire tenders along with fire personnel were immediately dispatched to the location and the fire was brought under control.
The fire reportedly broke out while meat was being dried, and the thatched house was completely reduced to ashes. The house owner sustained minor injuries, while the estimated loss of property is yet to be ascertained.

In another incident on January 2 evening, around three families were rendered homeless following a devastating fire which broke out at Railway Colony near Loknath Mandir at around 6:30 pm.
Timely action of the fire fighters along with the residents managed to douse the inferno within few minutes before it could spread to adjoining areas.
According to residents, the fire could have devastating impact had it not controlled on time due to density of population in the locality.
The cause of fire and loss of properties could not be ascertained till the time of filing this report. It was also reported that there was no loss of live.
