Fire damages the 3D Hall of Nagaland Science Centre in Dimapur; no casualties reported, loss assessment is underway
DIMAPUR — A fire suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit damaged the 3D Hall of Nagaland Science Centre in Dimapur on Tuesday morning, officials said.
According to SI Neiphretuo of Central Fire Station, the fire broke out at the Science Centre, located in the Naga Shopping Arcade area, and a distress call was received at around 10.44 am.
Two fire tenders along with firefighting personnel were immediately rushed to the spot. Firefighters brought the blaze under control within about 30 minutes, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the Science Centre and nearby structures.

The official said that the preliminary cause of the fire is suspected to be an electrical short circuit, although the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.
An assessment of the damage to the building and equipment is currently underway, and the extent of the financial loss has not yet been determined. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
