DIMAPUR — A one-day campaign for saturation of Financial Inclusion (FI) schemes and re-verification of KYC at the Gram Panchayat and village levels, launched by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, and supported under the Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF), , on Tuesday.
According to a DIPR report, the programme was organised by the State Bank of India (SBI), Kohima branch, with focus on spreading awareness about banking systems and social security schemes such as PMSBY, PMJJBY, APY, and PMJDY.
The SDO of Jakhama, Vineikho Tetso, who chaired the event, in his speech, emphasised the importance of financial literacy in rural communities to enable informed financial decisions and improve access to formal banking services.

Anthony K Nguori, Assistant Branch Manager of SBI Kohima, highlighted the objective of the campaign, stating that it aims to educate participants about the fundamentals of banking, including account opening procedures, KYC compliance, and the importance of member nomination in accounts.
Temsumeren, Lead District Manager (LDM) of LBO Kohima, led an informative session on government-sponsored social security schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). He also elaborated on the eligibility, benefits, and enrolment procedures for each scheme.
Chief Manager of SLBC, H Lalhlimpuia, and Assistant General Manager of RBI, K Samuel Liangousiam, also attended the camp.
The camp witnessed active participation from the local residents of Viswema village, who engaged with the resource persons and clarified their doubts related to banking and insurance services.
