Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, welcomed the Class of 2026 with a Freshers’ Day programme themed “Chasing Dreams”, featuring inspiring messages and the Mr. & Ms. Fresher 2026 contest.

MOKOKCHUNG — Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, welcomed its newest members, the Class of 2026, with a Freshers’ Day programme held at the college auditorium on Tuesday on the theme “Chasing Dreams”.
Addressing the freshers, Dr. I Wati Imchen, Principal of Fazl Ali College, described their entry into college as the beginning of an extraordinary chapter in their lives.
He said the students were not merely entering college to obtain a degree but were stepping onto a launch pad for the future, where they could pursue their passions and discover their purpose.
Emphasising that the true purpose of college extends beyond academic qualifications, Imchen encouraged the students to actively engage in campus life.
He said purpose is rarely found by simply sitting in a classroom, but through action, curiosity and engagement.
He urged the freshers to fill their college years with meaningful experiences, noting that while classrooms teach fundamentals, campus life teaches resilience and confidence.

Imdangmeren, general secretary of the Fazl Ali College Students’ Union (FACSU), reminded the freshers that they were not expected to have their entire lives figured out upon entering college.
He said students might enter college with certain dreams, discover new aspirations along the way, or realise that their initial dreams may not ultimately define who they are.
He encouraged the freshers to remain open to new experiences and opportunities as they navigate their college journey.
Speaking on behalf of the freshers, Molongnen Longkumer, a first-semester BSc student, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended to the new students and acknowledged the beginning of a new chapter in their academic journey.
The informal session featured the Mr. & Ms. Fresher 2026 contest, which comprised four rounds—ethnic, casual, formal and question rounds.
Molupong Longkumer of the Department of English was crowned Mr. Fresher 2026, while Langmai Khumla of the Department of History was crowned Ms. Fresher 2026.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Akumzulu Jamir, assistant social service secretary of FACSU.
