ENPO, tribal councils and ENNWs reaffirm peace zone status and support Frontier Nagaland Territory MoA in Mon meeting.

DIMAPUR — The consultative and co-ordination meeting of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organisation (ENPO) and eight tribal councils with Eastern Naga national workers (ENNWU and ENNWA) was held on April 16 at Konyak Union Hall, Mon town.
According to a press release issued by the ENPO, the meeting reaffirmed the ENPO Tuensang Summit Declaration of December 18, 2007, which declared eastern Nagaland as a peace zone.
The consultative meeting, attended by ENPO and eight tribal councils—Konyak Union (KU), Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS), United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP), Phom People’s Council (PPC), Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC), Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC), Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC) and Eastern Sumi Hoho (ESH)—along with ENNWU and ENNWA, adopted two resolutions.

The meeting resolved to stand by the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT), signed on February 5, 2026, between the Government of India, the Government of Nagaland and the ENPO, and to safeguard the future of the younger generation.
The house also affirmed its commitment to ensuring peace in the land, delivering justice through equality, and upholding the spirit of fraternity and integrity by striving towards comprehensive socio-economic development in the remote eastern region at par with the rest of the state.
Further, the participants pledged to uphold unity and brotherhood, and expressed commitment to aligning their minds and actions to address any eventualities that may hinder the growth and prosperity of future generations in eastern Nagaland.
