DIMAPUR — The national helpline for senior citizens, Elder Line Nagaland, celebrated its 4th anniversary on September 28 at its office at CK Office Complex Building, Kohima.
The programme, chaired by Elder Line connect leader Kevitsonuo Shüya, commenced with invocation prayer pronounced by Kanili Lohe, children pastor, SABCK, an update stated.
Akali Sema, programme manager, delivered a speech, emphasising the need to raise awareness about Elderline to improve care for senior citizens.
She also said that Elder Line – 14567, a toll-free number implemented by the State Social Welfare department, operates on all seven days of the week from 8 am to 8 pm.

The vision of Elder Line is to connect with and engage senior citizens, facilitating happy and healthy aging by serving them with honour and compassion. Its mission is to positively impact elderly lives by creating a reliable national helpline that serves as a platform for addressing their grievances, providing necessary information, and offering timely intervention, Akali said.
As of August 2025, the centre received 6,357 calls, distributed over 500 senior citizen cards, and helped place 28 destitute elderly individuals in old age homes, she informed.
The programme concluded with short speeches delivered by IT leader Lesel Neikha and call officer RokonoTetso.
