- DIMAPUR — The East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC)
has made it mandatory for all individuals and commercial developers to obtain
construction permit from its office before commencing construction of
buildings, both residential and commercial.
- “This directive is issued in accordance with the regulatory
framework governing urban planning, safety standards, and orderly development
within the EDTC-administered area,” it stated in a press release issued on
Monday.
- The council has allotted to all concerned a grace period of
15 days to approach the EDTC office and secure the required permit for any
ongoing or upcoming construction projects.
- “Failure to comply with this requirement will result in the
imposition of penalties, halting of construction activities, or legal action.
- “We urge all stakeholders to adhere to this notice and
fulfil the necessary procedures to ensure full compliance with municipal laws
and contribute to the safe and planned development of our town,” it stated.
