The Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Trophy in Nagaland saw thrilling finishes as North, Central, and West Zones registered wins in closely fought matches.

DIMAPUR — The Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Trophy witnessed three intense encounters at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium and the Sovima Cricket Ground on Saturday.
According to an update, North Zone edged out East Zone by three runs, Central Zone secured a dominant seven-wicket win over North East Zone, and West Zone clinched a close four-run victory over South Zone.
At the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, North Zone held their nerve to claim a narrow victory. Electing to bat first, North Zone put up a fighting total of 114 for seven in 20 overs, with Deeya Yadav top-scoring with 40 off 24 balls and Ayushi Soni adding an unbeaten 28 off 33.
For East Zone, Jintimani Kalita and Sushree Dibyadarshini bowled with great control, picking up three and two wickets, respectively.
In response, East Zone were bowled out for 111 in 19.5 overs despite a determined knock of 29 off 35 from T Sarkar. Nazma and Amandeep Kaur shared six wickets between them, returning figures of 3 for 20 and 3 for 13 respectively, as North Zone sealed a thrilling win.
Nazma was named the Player of the Match for her decisive bowling spell.

In another match at Sovima Cricket Ground, Central Zone dominated North East Zone to register a comprehensive seven-wicket victory.
Batting first, North East Zone were bundled out for 83 in 18 overs, with Priyanka Kurmi and D D Dutta scoring 23 runs each. Central Zone’s Anushka Sharma starred with the ball, taking five wickets for 23 runs in her four overs, while Shuchi Upadhyay and Vaishnavi Sharma claimed two wickets each.
In the chase, Central Zone reached 86 for three in 13.3 overs, led by Nuzhat Parween’s 35 off 36 and Mona’s 30 off 27. Anushka Sharma’s five-wicket haul earned her the Player of the Match award as Central Zone continued their strong form in the tournament.
At the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, West Zone edged South Zone by four runs in a match that went down to the wire.
West Zone, after opting to bat first, posted 146 for six in 20 overs. T S Hasabnis anchored the inning with an unbeaten 50 off 41 balls, supported by K P Navgire’s quickfire 37 off 25. South Zone’s bowlers, led by C Prathyusha with 2 for 22 and Asha S with 2 for 25, kept the pressure on.
Chasing 147, South Zone came close with key knocks from G Kamalini (35 off 29), S Meghana (34 off 26), and Niki Prasad (32 off 27), but fell short at 142 for seven. Humairaa Kaazi’s remarkable over, where she conceded just one run and picked up two wickets, turned the game in West Zone’s favour and earned her the Player of the Match award.
