Entrepreneurship Development Centre Programme concludes at Peren Government College, training over 140 students in startup and business skills.

DIMAPUR — Peren Government College on Thursday marked the conclusion of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) Programme, an initiative of Startup Nagaland under the Department of Industries and Commerce, supported by the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), and implemented by the Entrepreneur School of Business.
According to an update, Peren Government College was one of the two pilot Entrepreneurship Development Centres (EDCs) established following the CSR Conclave.
Launched in 2022, the three-year initiative aimed to foster an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset among students by integrating practical business training and startup-orientated learning within the academic environment.

During the course of the programme, more than 140 students from the college were trained in various aspects of entrepreneurship, including ideation, business planning, innovation, and enterprise creation.
The outcome has seen many students gain employment, while some have started their own startups. The initiative sought to build capacity among youth to become self-reliant and contribute to Nagaland’s growing startup ecosystem.
The concluding event was attended by the graduating EDP students, where certificates of completion were distributed.
The programme was attended by Dr. T Jamedi Longkumer, principal of Peren Government College, and Kughato Sema, general manager, Department of Industries and Commerce, Peren, who congratulated the students and encouraged them to continue exploring innovative paths in entrepreneurship.
